Veterans Day Weekend Saluting All Who Served The Military Officers Association of America , Ancient City Chapter (MOAA) and the Veterans Council of St. Johns County Florida (VCSJC) invite you attend our extraordinary Veterans Day Weekend , Novemb er 11 th thru 13 th , 2016 in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida . MOAA and VC SJC will be honoring United States Military Veterans, and all countries that were influential in our country’s and America’s oldest city’s history. A grand military parade on Veterans D ay , November 11 th , kicks off the celebration , which continue s with a military film festival throughout the weekend highlighting veter ans and their military experiences , climaxing with a patriotic, family oriented con cert on Sunday, November 13th at the S t. Augustine Amphitheatre. T he weekend is a tribute to those who have sec ured the freedom we enjoy today , and a testament to the enduring need for such selfless service . The festivities are dedicate d to our patriotic service members who have served befor e, those serving now, and those who will serve in the future . The specta cular, nationally one of a kind strictly Military , Grand P arade wil l have over 1,500 marchers, units from all the military services, Army and Navy Field Bands, re - enactor units repre senting every period from the f ounding of St. Augustine , and St. Johns County ROTC and JRTOC u nits. The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy, James J. Townsend, Jr. will be our honored Grand Marshall. The military film f estival at the Corazon Theater in St. Augustine will run Friday , Saturday, and Sun day screen ing five documentaries covering WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, Iraq/Afghanistan, K9s For Warriors and veterans suffering from PTSD . P OWs who have returned home will discuss their experiences. Lee Greenwood, “T op of the Country C harts” performer , will close the weekend with a spectacular patriotic benefit concert starting at 4 :00 pm Sunday. All net proceeds will be distributed to various veteran s’ organizations to assist our needy heroes through MOAA’s 501(c)(3).
